Nick Thomas-Symonds MP has congratulated GuS Periscopes on their recent investment in their staff, equipment, and engineering facility on his recent visit to the Cwmbran business.
Following the visit, the Nick Thomas-Symonds has talked up Torfaen as a great place to do business.
GuS Periscopes Ltd is a UK based defence company with extensive expertise in Military Periscope Technology. Based in their 11,000 sq ft facility, GuS Periscopes specialises in the design and manufacture of both standard and custom observation systems, including periscopes, hybrid electronic periscope systems, episcopes and vision blocks for armoured fighting vehicle applications.
2024 saw a year of significant growth for the manufacturer, allowing an additional £250,000 investment including the purchase of a state-of-the-art CNC polisher and extensions to the engineering and production areas.
The growing business has recently added a Sales Manager and a Manufacturing Engineer to its growing team, with a machine operator and a production technician being actively recruited. As well as increasing their staff, significant sums have been invested in providing Export Compliance training and accountancy skills as part of their programme to up-skilling existing employees.
GuS UK recently signed a strategic partnership with a manufacturer of vehicle hatches and is well placed to secure business on vehicles that will service new export markets.
